Quickstart

From zero to your first WhatsApp order

Four steps, one afternoon. Connect WhatsApp, build your menu, generate QR codes, and launch a campaign that brings customers back — no technical skills required.

Step 1 · ~10 minutes

Connect your WhatsApp Business account

MenuPulse sends and receives messages through the Meta WhatsApp Cloud API. You connect your own WhatsApp Business number through an embedded signup flow — you keep full ownership of the number and account.

  1. 1 From your MenuPulse dashboard, open Settings → WhatsApp and click Connect.
  2. 2 Sign in with the Facebook Business account that will own the number, and follow Meta's embedded signup.
  3. 3 Choose the phone number to use for WhatsApp Business — a new number or a migrated one (it can't already be on the WhatsApp consumer app).
  4. 4 Verify the number by SMS or call, then approve the permissions MenuPulse requests to send and receive messages.

Tip: Use a dedicated business number, not a personal one. Display your business name and a clear profile photo — customers trust a complete profile.

Step 2 · ~30 minutes

Build your digital menu

Your menu is a single source of truth that renders everywhere — inside WhatsApp, on your QR web menu, and in your PWA. Build it once and every price change updates instantly across all of them.

  1. 1 Go to Menu → Categories and add sections (Starters, Mains, Beverages, Combos).
  2. 2 Add items with a name, price, description, and photo. Set variants (Regular / Large) and add-ons (extra cheese, no onion).
  3. 3 Create combos and set availability schedules — happy-hour pricing, lunch-only items, or sold-out toggles.
  4. 4 Add allergen and dietary tags, and translations if you serve a multilingual audience.

Tip: Start with your 15–20 best-sellers rather than the whole menu. You can take real orders immediately and expand later.

Step 3 · ~10 minutes

Create QR codes for tables & packaging

QR codes are how diners enter the conversation. Each one opens WhatsApp with a prefilled hello and carries source attribution, so you know exactly which table tent or packaging insert drives orders.

  1. 1 Open QR → Generate and pick a source: per-table, counter, branch, packaging insert, or social bio.
  2. 2 Name each code (e.g. 'Table 4', 'Delivery insert') so attribution is meaningful in your analytics.
  3. 3 Download print-ready QR art with your logo, and place codes on tables, counters, receipts, and every packaging insert.
  4. 4 Add a click-to-WhatsApp link to your Instagram and Google Business profiles for online discovery.

Tip: The packaging insert is your highest-value placement — it reaches a customer who already loved your food and is the easiest path to convert a marketplace order into a direct one.

Step 4 · ~15 minutes

Send your first campaign

Once customers start ordering, your CRM fills automatically. Now bring people back with a well-targeted campaign — not a blast to everyone.

  1. 1 Turn on the Welcome and Reorder-Reminder journeys in Marketing → Automations so they run on autopilot.
  2. 2 Build an audience segment — for example, customers who ordered once but haven't returned in 21 days.
  3. 3 Draft the message (or let the AI campaign generator write it), add an approved template and a small incentive, and set a send time within quiet-hours rules.
  4. 4 Send to a small test slice first, then to the full segment — and watch attributed revenue in the Growth Dashboard.

Tip: Measure revenue, not opens. The dashboard ties orders back to the campaign that earned them, so you know what to do more of.
